I have downloaded data for the major pipelines in New York and some data regarding sensitive habitat in the Hudson Valley. I used a New York shape file and added lakes and rivers layers to the map. I clipped the layers to make them appear in only New York. However, the data files containing gas and petroleum pipelines in New York City gave me trouble and would not work when clipped.
The orange lines represent gas lines, the green lines represent oil lines, and the purple areas represent HREP significant biodiversity, the dark red areas are Natural Heritage communities, and the dark green are NYNHP Important Areas for animals.

Hi Andrew. Very unique idea! I look forward to seeing more. I would just be sure to include a legend later!
ReplyDeleteHey! Project is looking great so far. When you present the project I would just like to see a closer up visual even if it cuts off part of NY! It get's super busy as your feature classes get closer to the city!
